While it’s probably going to be many years before we start seeing tourist ads for the distinct joys and charms of Iraqi tourism, a lot of returning Iraqis know full well how much fun Baghdad and Iraq can be.

In fact, if you are an Iraqi displaced by the war and you’ve just come home, you probably would not want to leave. After all, you’re spending time in your homeland. You’re spending time with your people, you’re speaking your language, and people know you and accept you.

Make no mistake about it, regardless of whether you’ve relocated temporarily or permanently to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and all points in between, you’re still going to be an Iraqi at heart.

As the old saying goes, you can take the person out of Iraq, but you cannot take Iraq out of the person. Iraq, after hall is in the heart.

And this is why a lot of people of Iraqi origin are coming back to Iraq. Either permanently or temporarily. Whatever the case may be, people are having a lot of fun and enjoying themselves. After all, there’s no place like home.

Now, with that said, if you really want to take things to a whole other level as far as your joy and exhilaration are concerned, you might want to consider riding a Segway.

You’ve probably heard of Segway hoverboards. They were in the news quite a bit several years back. It’s very easy to see why. People haven’t quite seen devices like the Segway.

The Segway is designed to move with your body so you can simply tilt your body to give commands to this mobile platform. That’s really the best way to describe it. It’s a mobile platform.

And it’s not some sort of scooter. It’s not some sort of modified bicycle. It’s not some sort of self powered wheelchair. Instead, it is a mobile platform.

I really like the concept of platforms because you can build on platforms. Platforms are open-ended. Platforms can be scaled up and, believe it or not, the Segway is actually the first version of the hoverboard.

Now, of course, we all know where the idea of the hoverboard, at least the popular media versions of it, came from.

If you’ve watched the movie Back to the Future, you should remember that scene where Michael J. Fox whips out this skateboard-looking device and he jumps on it and it starts flying him all over the place.

While it’s obvious that we are several decades away from that kind of hoverboard, we’ve made quite a bit of a progress when it comes to hovering over the ground using wheels. The Segway is an important part of that evolution.

We’re definitely going to get there sooner rather than later, but the Segway enables you to get that feeling that you’re above the ground and you’re moving really fast.

There’s a wind brushing against your skin, and you get this tremendous rush of freedom. It’s kind of like riding a skateboard at full speed, but the skateboard is powering itself.

So do yourself a big favor, if you are already having a lot of fun in Iraq, take things to a whole other level by riding a Segway. There’s nothing else like it.

Regardless of whether you live in Southern Iraq, the Baghdad area, or Northern Iraq, there is really no excuse for you not to ride a Segway. It would really take your vacation or your daily activities to a whole other level of fun, enjoyment and inspiration.
